I had just purchased a new Zoom H4 recording device, and was hoping to find some use for it. When I aimed it out of our front window at 8:30 on a weeknight, I expected it to pick up noises of petwalkers, small families, and folks going to and from our local bars.

Instead, with this pandemic going on, our block was eerily quiet-- so quiet, that a person could hear almost everything, even the tiniest of aural details.
